Beautiful garnet red wine, soft taste with a long aftertaste.
Colour: bright garnet red.
Smell: dark forest fruits such as blackberry, black currant, elderberry, slightly spicy, fairly full.
Taste: Smell impressions, soft acidity in the background.
Finish: Long.
Wine/food: red meat dishes, hard cheese, farm cheese, young matured, mature pate, dishes with red cabbage and beetroot - the latter in combination with fried onions - spicy sausage, well seasoned pasta dishes on a tomato base, as evening wine, possibly together with paprika chips or cheese sticks.
Notes: Previous years had a distinct smell and taste of oak. The 2019 does not have that, so the fruit flavors come out better, just like with the Merlot. The wine is already drinkable after half an hour of air. With sufficient acidity and tannins, the Reserve wine will continue to develop over the next 3+ years and become softer in taste.
