Barkan Reserve - Merlot 75 cl

Beautiful deep red, smooth wine. An excellent accompaniment to beautiful red meat dishes and hard cheeses or as an evening wine.

Colour: bright red.
Smell: forest fruits, slightly spicy, notes of cherries.
Taste: red forest fruits, mild notes of cherries, the wine is still young so that the taste comes across smoothly, the tannins are interwoven in the overall taste and do not come back to the foreground.
Finish: fairly long.
Wine/food: because the wine is still young and mild, a mature hard cheese is better suited to this than an old crumb of cheese, homemade pasta sauce on a tomato base, stew with beef strips and onion, carrot, think of black pepper and bay leaf for seasoning, a nice ball of minced meat won't do too bad either, not old sheep's cheese, pate, chorizo sausage.

Notes: the wine has fewer woody notes than previous years. this brings out the fruit flavor better. in a cool place, the wine will continue to develop after 2+ years. Already nice to drink because of the warm, generous taste.
